About us
Technological progress has influenced the development of society and education since the dawn of time. The rise of telecommunications networks, along with IT and digital expansion, over the past few decades has compelled educators and post-secondary faculty to reinvent themselves and innovate. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic impelled a transformation in institutes of higher education, which also had to quickly step up their use of digital tools.
Fortunately, Quebec – like the rest of Canada and the world – entered the digital age armed with a Digital Action Plan for Education and Higher Education in May 2018. This action plan was a catalyst for institutes of higher education to work jointly on making Numérique 2018 a reality.
This symposium, which builds on this foundation, is organized by Université TÉLUQ, with financial support from the MES, in association with the Fédération des cégeps, HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal, Université du Québec, Université de Montréal and Université de Sherbrooke.
Numérique 2020 gives you an opportunity to:
- Learn about development and collaborative initiatives for implementing distance education (before and during the COVID-19 pandemic), as well as MOOCs and digital resources.
- Discover the latest digital trends that will influence higher education.
- Explore educational practices being put to use by instructors and professors in various disciplines at the college and university levels.
- See how digital technology has upended teaching and management methods in institutes of higher education.
This symposium will present an opportunity to promote small-, medium- and large-scale transformation and innovation in the world of higher education.
The event will be held in both English and French.
Simultaneous interpretation will be available at every conference session. So you can attend every activity, whether you speak English or French!
