The 2020 EDUCAUSE Horizon Report: Teaching and Learning Edition

The 2020 EDUCAUSE Horizon Report is the first to employ a major revision of the report’s methodology, structure, and content that breaks the mold of the classic Horizon Report without losing its essential purpose. Adopting a futures perspective, we worked with a team of global teaching and learning experts to identify the major trends, emerging practices, and technologies that are shaping and informing higher education today. Additionally, we authored four provocative, long-term forecasts for higher education teaching and learning and a set of short essays, written from different regional and institutional perspectives, on the implications of the report’s findings. This presentation will share insights into the new methodology, offer a brief overview of the results, and open a discussion about what we think might be on the horizon for 2021.
