Digital technology in educational institutions

10:35–11:20AM – Roundtable

Governance of transformation, through digital technology, in institutes of higher education: challenges and issues

The integration of digital technology into institutes of higher education is inevitable, and bears transformative potential that extends beyond instructors’ educational practices. This transformation enables institutes to review teaching, research and management tools and practices all at once. To attain this goal, the institutes need to develop a vision and a strategy and implement it. The panellists of this roundtable – including a vice-rector, a dean and an academic dean – will be invited to answer a number of questions about governance associated with the transformation, driven by digital technology, in institutes of higher education.

Issues and perspectives: a digital shift adapted to the student condition

This presentation by national student associations will help position Quebec’s digital shift within the current student context. What issues, challenges and barriers does online teaching present to the student population? What needs to be implemented in order to ensure adequate universal access to education? Representatives for the Fédération étudiante collégiale du Québec (FECQ), the Quebec Student Union (QSU) and the Fédération des associations étudiantes universitaires québécoises en éducation permanente (FAEUQEP) will discuss these topics with you during this workshop.
